It has been highlighted on TV, in the papers, on the radio and both sides of politics also agree (on this one issue at least), all families are facing cost of living pressures. Adding to the existing pressures are the recent increases to rates and utilities and the unknown future costs associated with the Carbon Tax, the Mining Tax and increases to stamp duty. After all these take affect, families could be facing some major cash flow issues over the next 6-12 months (if they not already are).
A major problem is that our economy is very two paced; basically anything to do with the mining or gas sectors are booming and creating inflation pressures, while pretty much every other sector is struggling – especially retail. I really do not see anything on the horizon that is going to change this, so it is time review your circumstances and if necessary make some hard decisions.
