PAYG withholding tables |
|
The ATO have recently advised that they will not be issuing paper copies of the tax tables for the 2010/11 year onwards. These tax tables provide employers using manual accounts with information relating to the amount of tax to be withheld from employees wages. While this will not be an issue for clients using up to date versions of MYOB, QuickBooks and other payroll systems, it will become problematic for those using older versions of software and manual record keepers. Employers using older software programs or those paying staff manually need to be aware that there will be a change to the tax tables. Even though paper copies will no longer be sent from the ATO, they will still be required to obtain the new tax tables (online, from a news agent or tax office shop front etc.) Old versions of the tax tables must not be used. For employers who want to make a move to an electronic system, please contact your accountant directly. |
